Babysitting Skills Course
Next course dates: February 19th and 20th 2025
Our Babysitting Skills Course is always very popular and offers young people aged 14 years and over the opportunity to gain some valuable skills that will equip them with the confidence and ability to become a responsible babysitter.**
Run over two days, our Developing Babysitting Skills Course a fun and interactive course, with lots of practical hands-on experiences, including a 2-hour First Aid course and the opportunity to play with some real children***!
The course is open to boys and girls and aims to prepare them to look after children and babies in a safe and responsible way.
During the course we cover many aspects of babysitting, such as communicating with parents/carers; play skills; safety; first aid; and advertising our new babysitting skills. Participants will also receive a access to an online folder of information and resources.
To further enhance our Babysitting Skills Course, we have written a bespoke unit for the AQA Unit Award Scheme, which will reward all participants with a certificate if they successfully complete the course and evidence their learning. You can see the unit that we will be working on here: AQA | Unit Award Scheme | Babysitting Skills
Some of this evidence will be gathered during the two days of the course and some will need to be done by the participant in the days immediately following the course. This can be done in a digital format, or handwritten on paper, or even by video! Don’t worry – this will not be too difficult, and we will give you all the information and support that you need.
The cost for this course is usually £55 per participant, but thanks to funding we have been able to obtain we are usually able to offer this course at the subsided rate of only £25 per person. If participants wish to have their evidence submitted for the AQA certificate there will be an additional charge of £5.
Please note that you do not have to submit work for the AQA certificate and all participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance for taking an active part in the two training days.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

Here’s what some of our previous participants have had to say about the course:
‘Thank you ever so much for the course. I really have learnt a lot, and because I’ve done the course I put it on Facebook and I’ve had 3 new families ask me to babysit which is now a regular thing! Thank you again for the experience!’
‘This course was a great experience and has definitely made me more confident. I have gained some vital life skills.’
‘Just a quick email to say thank you so much for running this great course. Lauren really enjoyed the day and found it very interesting. Lauren has been working as a babysitter for a while, but I think this course is helping her have confidence in herself and what she has been doing.’
‘I just wanted to say a huge thank you for putting on such a brilliant two day babysitting course! Sarah learnt so much and it has hopefully given her a lot of confidence to look after other people’s children. She also said that the staff were all so lovely and very helpful.’

** Please note that participation in this course does not guarantee any participant work as a babysitter and Krunch are not involved in setting up young people to work as babysitters or finding them work in this area.
***In previous years participants have been able to look after interactive babies during the course. For 2025 however it is unlikely that the babies will be available as they have unfortunately reached the end of their lives. We are looking into alternative options.
